Outer layer. Turns into skin, nervous system, and other external parts of the body.
Ectoderm
Middle layer. Turns into the circulatory system, urinary and reproductive organs, muscles, and bones.
Mesoderm
Inner layer. Turns into the thymus, thyroid, digestive, respiratory, and parts of the GU system.
Endoderm
Breast changes, uterine enlargement, amenorrhea, nausea and vomiting, urinary frequency, fatigue, and quickening.
Presumptive signs of pregnancy
Goodell Sign (softening of the cervix), Chadwick’s Sign (purple cervix), Hegar’s Sign (softening of lower uterus), positive pregnancy test (serum and urine), Braxton Hicks contractions, ballottement, fetal outline.
Probable signs of pregnancy
Visualization of fetus in ultrasound, fetal heart tone detected in ultrasound, visualization of fetus in radiographic study, fetal heart tone detected by Doppler ultrasound stethoscope and fetal stethoscope, and fetal movements palpated and visible.

Contraindications for contraction stress test (CST)
Ultrasound guided needle through the abdomen and uterus to obtain a sample of amniotic fluid, assess fetal lung maturity, alpha-fetoprotein (screens for neutral tube defects).
