Ageism
Ideology that asserts superiority on the basis of age.

Refer to the ability to influence and control others.

Refers to unequal distribution of resources, such as wealth, power, and prestige.
Sexism
Refers to the thinking that one sex is superior to another and that unequal treatment.
Classism

Meritocracy
A system in which people get ahead solely on the basis of merit.
Majority
Refers to the group with power and privilege.
Minority
The group at a disadvantage in terms of power and privilege.
Cultural encapsulation
A lack of contact with cultures outside of our own.
Socialization
The lifelong process of social interaction that enables us to learn about ourselves and others.
Nature
Refers to our biological makeup.
Nurture
Refers to those aspects of the environment that mold, and shape us, such as school, families, and peer groups.
Enculturation
Immersion Ina culture to the point where that way of life appears only natural.

A concept that was coined by a scientific named Emory Bogardus.
