What are codes and conventions?
Codes are systems of signs, which create meaning.
Eg.
bear cans=drunk people
Define denotation and connotations
denotation is the precise, literal definition of a word that might be found in a dictionary whereas, Connotation refers to the wide array of positive and negative associations that most words naturally carry with them.

Media producers choosing to include certain elements
Define omition
Media producers choosing to exclude certain elements
Define the term digital divide
Digital divide is the technological gap between first world and third world countries. This doesn’t favour thirds world countries as they are granted limited opportunities.
Centralised funding definition
The traditional way of funding from a large company, eg. Walt Disney or a bank
Decentralised funding
New way of funding, which is known as crowd funding, having many sources funding a project.

Difference between centralised distribution and decentralised distribution.
Centralised involves larger companies distributing via for example film, to, newspaper, billboards for marketing. Where’s decentralised distribution is independent using platforms Li,e Facebook and Twitter for marketing
What is copyright?
Exclusive and assignable legal right to the originator for a fixed number of years to print, publish, perform, film and record.
Advantage and disadvantage of copyright
It protects the original artist however it restricts creativity of the artist. Harsh penalties apply as well, just for the financial profitability of the media.
Fair use
It is a copy right law that enables people to use a small amount of copyrighted things for their own benefit of learning or freedom of speech etc.
Intellectual property
intangible property that is the result of creativity, such as patents, copyrights, etc.
Financial profitability
The ability of media owners to generate a large amount of funds however, it’s too much in favour of major corporations.
