Toxic substances are poisonous and can harm the cells of the body if not removed
What is excretion
Excretion is one of the seven characteristics of all living things. Excretion is the removal of toxic chemicals
We have three excretory organs , what are they?
Kidneys
Lungs
Skin
What do kidneys do?
The kidneys filter (remove urea and salts) as they clean our blood.
This is called filtration(process)
What does the renal artery do
It carries blood to the kidney
What does the renal vein do
It carries blood from the kidney
What does the ureter do
The ureter transports urine to the bladder
What does the bladder store
The bladder stores urine
What does the urethra release
The urethra releases urine
What is urea
Urea is toxic and is produced in the liver from excess protein
What are the lungs made up of ?
Carbon dioxide
Water
Energy
What do you use to test for carbon dioxide
Limewater
