Distribution:
- More rod cells than cone cells
- Unevenly distributed in retina
- No rod cells at blind spot because of optic nerve
function:
- rods detect light in low intensity
- do not detect colour (black and white)
- provide night vision

A
Distribution:
- Mostly concentrated in fovea
- no cone cells at blind spot because of optic nerve
Function:
- cones detect light in high intensity
- detect colour
- 3 different types; red, blue, and green cone cells
