Scrooge has given Bob the opportunity to have a Christmas dinner and due to this bob warms up to Scrooge and starts to forgive him. Bob could also be saying the reason they are struggling is because of Scrooge.

Scrooge is anxious to see Freds reaction to him because he has treated him so badly but instead Fred is excited to see him showing that Fred’s youth allows him to forgive Scrooge very easily.
