Gases Flashcards

1
Q

what is heliox and how does it work

A

70% helium and 30% oxygen. Decreased gas density as compared to oxygen alone, increasing flow of gas through obstruction/stridor

gas becomes more turbulent when passages narrow

  • diameter
  • density
  • velocity
