● He first learned to play kutyapi at around 13 years old from his uncle and mastered playing kutyapi at 35 years of
age.

● She is a traditional weaver of T’nalak or T’boli cloth, a dyed fabric made from refined abaca fiber.
● She knows at least 100 designs, there is bankiring (hair bangs), kabang (butterfly), bulinglangit (clouds) and each one represents a different story.

● She has woven continuously, through her marriage and six pregnancies, and even after her husband’s death 20 years ago. She and her sister are the only remaining Bagobo weavers in her community. (“last Bagobo weaver“)

● He is known for his work on the documentation of the oral literature, particularly the ten epics. These epics are rendered in an extinct language related to Kinaray-a.

○ Tikum Kadlum - tells about the hunting spree of Datu Paiburong
○ Amburukay - It centers on the hilarious character of the old ugly Amburukay who demands payment from Datu Labaw Donggon for the theft of her gold pubic hair.
○ Derikaryong Pada - The most beautiful maiden of her time blooms to full maturity and waits for the fulfillment of the tuos (the promise of having one’s daughter married to someone’s son)
