How Do Breathalysers work? (older type)
A
Na2Cr2O7 is packed in breathalyser. If a person is drunk they will have CH3CH2OH in their breath which will reduce the Cr(VI) to Cr (III), and change colour from yellow to green. (note - alcohol will be oxidized)
