Tx itching with Benadryl or hydroyzine
Pt comes in with with salmon colored paule on the trunk with scaling along the borders. States 2 days later more erupted to proxmal extremities. Dx? Course? Tx?
Pityriasis rosea is self limited and usually resolved in 6-12 weeks. Can use PO antihistamines or topical steroids.
EM drug sensitivity?
Erythema Multiforme is type 4 hypersensitivity
What association is MC with Erythema Multiforme?
Herpes simplex virus is MC, but can occur after taking sulfa drugs, beta lactams, Phentoin
Target lesions with dusty violen purpuric macules w/ vessicles surrounded by pale rim. + Fever. Notise oral and genital mucosa. Dx?
EM Major as involves more than 1 mucosal membrane

SJS involves less than 10% of body surface as opposed to more than 30% in TEN
tx both like burn
Translucent pearlyly waxy papule with central ulceration on face and trunk that bleeds easily with telectatic vessles.
Basal cell- electrodessication vs Mohs for facial involvement
Honey colored crust after pt got bit. What is dx and expected organism
Impetigo usually due to Stap—> give Mupirocin
Pt states they traveled from Southwestern to Midwestern part of US when they noticed bite on their left leg. States they saw violin shaped pattern on spider prior to killing it. What is the spider and what do you need to be cautious for?
Pt was bit by brown recluse spider need to observe for hemorrhagic bullae that undergoes eschar formation withint 24-72 hours after.
Pt states they noticed small bite after gardening. Reports muscle pain and 30 minutes after. PE shows blanched circular patch with surrounding red perimeter and central target lesion. What do you tell patient?
Sx should resolve in 1-3 days after black widow spider bite. Can give benzos for spasms
*Antivenome reserved for patients not responsive to medications
Patient comes in c/o painful bumps underneath arm. You notice folliculitis and tracking underneath the skin. What is dx and tx?
Give topical Clinda and Tetracycline for hidradentitis suppurative
Advise to avoid high glycemic foods and smoking cessation
What burns should be referred to wound care no matter if they are minor
- Face, hands, perineum, feet, and cross major joints or be circumferential
Burn to the epidermis causing erythematous pink and moist appearance with blistering-painful to touch
2nd degree burn-superfical partial thickness
Red, yellow, pale and dry appearance that is not painful to touch with lack of cap refill and blistering
Deep partial thickness0scarring common
-typically takes 3-2 months to heal
