Q

How do drugs work?

A

1) can kill something foreign/pathological. Ex: antibiotics or anticancer
2) they can replace something that is missing. Ex. Insulin
3) they can overcome a defect

Sometime they can do multiple things depending on dose. Ex: cortisol can be a replacement or can suppress inflammation at higher doses
