Point
Infinitely small; no size; everything in the universe is comprised of a series of points.
Geometry
To measure the earth.
Line
A series of points that goes infinitely in opposite directions.
Collinear
3 or more points in the same line
Line segment
A part of a line that has 2 end points.
Ray a potion of a line that has one end point and is infinite in one direction.
A potion of a line that has one end point and is infinite in one direction.
Plane
A flat, 2 dimensional surface that has infinite length and width and no “ breadth” or depth.
Coplaner Points
Points on the same plane
Parrallel lines
Lines in the same plane that do not intersect.
Skew lines
Lines not on the same plane that do not intersect
Do not assume lines are parallel unless:
- A statement is written with words or expressions
2. There are arrows in the same direction.
Equation
A statement containing and equal sign
Midpoint
The point of a segment that divides a segment into 2 congruent segments. It bisects the segment.
Angle
Two rays that share an endpoint
Perpendicular lines
Lines that intersect at a right angle
