A
Increases blood glucose by stimulating glycolysis.
Stabilizing cardiac rhythm in beta-blocker overdose
Minimal positive inotrope and chronotrope
Decreases GI motility and secretions

Glucagon: Indications
A
Altered LOC when hypoglycemia is suspected.
May be used as inotropic agent in beta-blocker overdose

Glucagon: Dose and Admin.
A
Adult: 0.5-1mg IM,SC, slow IV. repeat q 20min PRN
Pedi: 0.03-0.1mg/kg/dose IM, IO, SC, slow IV q 20min. (max 1mg)
