A
  • Diabetic hypoglycaemia (BGL <3.5mmol) in patients with altered conscious state and/or cannot swallow safely, and IV access obtained.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation

Dosing Regimes of Glucose?

A

Adults
- 100ml IV, Repeat PRN checking BSL 10minutely

Paediatrics
- 2ml per kg, Repeat PRN checking BSL 10minutely

Neonatal Resuscitation
- 10ml if BSL <2.5mmol, 20 minutes after oral glucose, repeat PRN checking BSL 10minutely
