Muy vs. Mucho

A

Muy (only one form) = Very
- Use before an adjective or adverb.
Tus amigas son muy locas.
Mis calcetines están muy sucios.

Mucho = a lot, a lot of, much, many
- It is an adjective or adverb and usually goes before a noun.
It has a gender and singular/plural.
- Mucho/mucha (a lot, a lot of, much)
- Muchos/muchas (a lot, a lot of, many)
Hace mucho calor.
Hay mucha comida en la mesa.
Mi hijo tiene muchos zapatos.
Hay muchas casas viejas en mi barrio.
Mi esposo trabaja mucho. (Adverb)

Muchísimo = more than a lot, “very, very” or “lots and lots of”, “many, many”.

Esta mañana hace Muchísimo frío.
Tengo Muchísima sed, porque corrí 10 kilómetros.

Opposite or Mucho is Poco.
