• This type of variable consists of different arbitrary categories

• Categorical data
• Arbitrary: can’t be ordered or distinctly valued

A
  • Type of variable where the order of values is significant
  • However, the distance between values is unknown
    • Rating: Hard, medium, easy

Interval scale

A

Values on the measure can be ordered AND the differences between units (intervals) on the measure are equal and meaningful

Same as interval scale but now you have meaningful ratio’s between units; has absolute zero
