Q
The gray sea and the long black land
And the yellow half moon large and low
And the startled little waves that leap
In fiery ringlets from their sleep
As I gain the cove with pushing prow
& quench it's speed I' the slushy sand

Q
Sir, I encountered death
Just now among our roses
I knew him by his pictures
He had on his black coat
As soon as he beckoned, I ran
I ran until I found you
Sir, I'm quitting my job
I want to see my sons
Once before I die
I want to see California

Q

I know what the caged bird feels alas!
When the sun is bright on the upland slopes
When the wind stirs soft through the springing grass
And the river flows like a stream of glass
When the first bird sings and the first bud opes
And the faint perfume from it’s chalice steals-
I know what the caged bird feels!

There was a man who had a house in France
Around it is where he would love to prance
He spun around
And fell on the ground
And now he’s not even able to dance
