no hip flexion greater than 90°;
no internal rotation;
no adduction of affected hip joint

Anterolateral approach:
no external rotation;
no extension;

A
  1. Maintain good posture
  2. Avoid forcing the ROM of the joint or aggressive exercise during activities initially
  3. Avoid development of contracture (avoid knee flexion to prevent extension lag)
  4. Monitor skin breakdown or infection
  5. Prevent dislocation of the new joint
