Historical Criticism came from the Greek word
Historia - inquiry, knowledge
It explores historical, social, political, and cultural contexts surrounding the creation and reception of a work of literature
History Criticism
It uses history as a mean of understanding a literary work more clearly which includes facts about the author’s life and the historical and social circumstances of the time
