2 signs of meningism
- neck stiffness (resistance to flexion of the neck)
- kernigs sign (resistance to extension of the leg)
how do you test for neck stiffness?
flex patients head, check for spasm
what is the flexion of the knees in response to neck flexion called?
Brudzinskis sign
what is Kernigs sign?
- flex at hip and extend at knee.
- look at the other leg for any reflex flexion
