Q

What do you do if an employee’s time sheet appears to be inaccurate? For example, your employee clocked out at 6:45, but you believe he/she left at 6:15?

A

First, ask the employee why their time card says 6:45. This is to determine if maybe they were asked to do some additional task after 6:15 that you were not aware of or maybe you are remembering incorrectly the hours worked the day before. If the time card is incorrect, ask the employee to make the change before you approve it. A manager should never adjust an employee’s time card. This should always be done by the employee or HR if the employee is unavailable or cannot make the correction.

Q

Transfer/Terms

A

It is management’s responsibility to notify HR of any changes in employment status or location. Expenses (projected hours, benefit costs, hours worked) will continue to be charged to the branch to which they are assigned until HR either removes the employee from the system or transfers them to a new location.
