1/2 to 1 inch of ice

Yes, there is a manual overide but the prop amp will read ZERO
When do you activate the engine anti-ice?
When the OAT is +5 or less, when in visible moisture
Is the stall warning vane reliable?
No, even though heated, not reliable when ice forms on the wings
What is the minimum speed to enter icing conditions?
140 knots
What heats the engine lips (nacelles) ?
Exhaust gases
What operates erratically when the windshield is being used?
The magnetic compass, upto 180 degrees
What does the alternative static air system do?
It’s provides back up for the ALT, VSI and ASI. The difference is 70 feet and 7 knots the difference increases as the altitude increases
What is the oil to fuel heater used for?
To prevent ice entering the fuel control unit
To ensure maximum windshield heating, what is the max effective airspeed?
226 knots
What happens if there is a loss of electrical power and the boots are inflated?
They will colapse under vacuum
Why do you have to wait until at least 1/2 to 1 inch of ice to extend the boots?
The ice may crack but probably wont break loose
What is the timer sequence of the boots?
6 seconds for the wings, 4 seconds for horizontal stabilizer
At what temperature do you NOT activate the de-boots?
-40 degrees
If prop icing is on auto, what will the prop amp read?
Green arc, 18 to 24 amps
