  • Urine sample - bence-Jones proteins are monoclonal globulins
  • Lytic bone lesions on x-ray
  • Anaemia
  • Increased no. Of plasma cells in bone marrow aspirate

How can you tell it’s neutropenic sepsis?

A

Suspect in all patients who are unwell and within 6 weeks of receiving chemotherapy.

  • > 38°C
  • Neutrophil <0.5x10^9/L
  • Examine indwelling catheters
