What is The Vision of Mac Conglinne?
A
A Middle Irish tale about a scholar from Armagh who has visions of a world made of foods such as bacon, butter and black pudding. He believes that his vision can help rid King Cathal of a Demon of Gluttony who lives in his throat.
MacConglinne has the king fast for two days and then lashes him to a post. He then prepares a lavish banquet of roasted meats to taunt the demon out so he can trap him under a cauldron and have him set on fire.
