Terminal illness
An illness or condition which cannot be cured and is likely to lead to someone’s death.
Skid mark
A fecal stain on the inside of a person’s underpants
Hermaphodite
An organism having both male and female sex organs or other sexual characteristics, either abnormally or (in the case of some organisms) as the natural condition.
Androgynous
Partly male and partly female in appearance; of indeterminate sex
Scot-free
Without suffering any punishment or injury
Schizophrenia
A serious mental condition of a type involving a breakdown in the relation between thought, emotion, and behavior, leading to faulty perception, inappropriate actions and feelings, withdrawal from reality and personal relationships into fantasy and delusion, and a sense of mental fragmentation.
Codependency
Excessive emotional or psychological reliance on a partner, typically one who requires support on account of an illness or addiction.
Enigma
Something hard to understand or explain

The word enigma originally referred not to people but to words, and specifically to words that formed a riddle or complicated metaphor that tested the listener’s or reader’s alertness and cleverness.
Strip mall
A shopping mall consisting of stores and restaurants typically in one-story buildings located on a busy main road.
Expat
A person who lives outside their native country.
Diaspora
People who scatter from their homeland to places across the globe, spreading their culture as they go.
Integrity
The quality of being honest and having strong moral principles; moral uprightness.
Man of letters
A male scholar or author
Gullible
Easily deceived or cheated
Sinology
The study of the Chinese and especially their language, literature, history, and culture.
