Jesus Flashcards
Three ways God reveals himself
Human reason, sacred scripture, sacred tradition
Human reason
Ways we know God, intellect, revelation (unveiling), salvation history, covenants, free will to choose
Sacred Scripture
The WRITTEN transmission of the Church’s gospel message found in the Church’s teaching, life, and worship. It is faithfully preserved, handed down, and interpreted by the Magisterium
Sacred Tradition

Incarnation

Revelation

Divine Revelation

Original sin
Adam and Eve at the Garden of Eden. Original sin is passed down to all of humanity
Salvation history
Subsequent story of God’s saving activity in human history
Covenant

Deposit of faith
The heritage of faith contained in sacred scripture and tradition, handed on in the Church from the time of the Apostles, from which the Magisterium draws all that it proposes for belief as being divinely revealed
Faculty of intellect and will
Our brains, wisdom and knowledge, the free will to believe in God
Dogma
