There are 7 Sacraments in the Catholic Church. Sacraments are ways in which Christians can receive God’s help and Love.
What is a Miracle?
Something that seems to break the laws of science. This makes you think that only God could have done it.
What is Holy Week?
This is the last week in the life of Jesus.
When does Holy Week start?
It starts on Palm Sunday and ends at easter, which celebrates the resurrection of Jesus.
Who is the Messiah?
The ‘anointed one’. Christians believe that Jesus was the Messiah who saved humans from sin and brought them closer to God.
What is the Nativity Story?
The story of Jesus’ birth.
What is the annunciation?
This was when the Angel Gabriel told Mary that she was going to have a baby. This baby would be the son of God and she would call him Jesus.
What does ‘Annunciation’ mean?
Announcement.
Who was Mary?
She was the mother of Jesus. She always wears blue in paintings and drawings. She is the Mother of God.
What did the Shepherds bring to Jesus when he was born?
A lamb.
What did the Magi bring?
Gold, Frankincense and Myrrh.
Why is the birth of Jesus important?
Its important because Catholic Christians believe it was the birth of the most unique person in History. They believe it was the incarnation of God himself.
Who was John the Baptist?
He was Jesus’ cousin and was baptising people before Jesus came.
Who baptised Jesus?
John the Baptist.
