- Lloyd George didn’t want to be too harsh to Germany (still wanted to trade with them)
- Britain was overly concerned with Germany’s navy and overseas colonies instead of incapacitating Germany

- Wilson’s second point was to ‘allow all nations access to the seas’
- Self determination (would ruin British empire)
