Q

What are telomeres and why are they important?

A
  • telomeres are ending sequence of DNA
  • they prevent DNA molecules from joining each other
  • telomeres normally shorten up after each round of replication

Q

What does it mean when a cell goes into SENESCENCE?

  • telomeres shortens up
  • cell cannot replicate anymore
it basically cell reaching a point where they stop replication, which is how it should be otherwise it is cancerogenous
