Function: retina of the eye
Fovea centralis
Region where the most acute vision is processed
Optic disk
“Bind spot” where the optic nerve connects to the retina
Suspensory ligaments
AKA Zonular fibers

Vitreous humor
The substance that fills the posterior cavity
Iris
The anterior and posterior chambers are divided by the iris
Lens
The anterior and posterior cavities are divided by the lens
CN3 (Oculomotor nerve)
Innervates the superior rectus, inferior rectus, medial rectus, and inferior oblique
Superior rectus
Action: Inferior rotation of the eye
Inferior rectus
Action: Inferior rotation of the eye
Lateral rectus
Action: Lateral rotation of the eye
CN6 (Abducens nerve)
Innervates the lateral rectus
Medial rectus
Action: Medial rotation of the eye
Superior oblique
Action: Inferior and lateral rotation of the eye
