A

May increase due to cancer of pancreas.

A

Nonspecific marker of inflammation.

Moderately elevated occurs with inflammation, anemia, infection, pregnancy, and old age.

Very high can be due to severe infection, MM, Waldenstrom’s macroglobulinemia.
