how did the league aim to bring justice?

  • the covenant set out moral guidelines
  • if they were broken the PCIJ could issue sanctions
  • PCIJ = Permanent court of international justice

why didn’t the USA join the league?

A
  • wilson was very ill
  • the senate opposed the treaty of versailles and saw the league as related to it.
  • isolationism

A

they were powerful and threatened the league’s strength

(germany couldn’t join until 1926)
