Management Theory:
-Describe Frederick Taylor
- most interested in efficiency
- assumes that most efficiency gained by workers in specialized jobs (standardization of tasks)
- *hired people based on skills and abilities

-determined the productivity of workers through time management and motion studies

-Describe Henri Fayol
- Command and control type of management
- Simple model of how management interacts with personnel
- top/down model
- still seen in pharmacies a little
- someone is a boss
- wanting to work now more as a team
Management Theory:
-Max Weber
- Hierarchial management
- Well defined line of authority with clear rules and regulations of workers
Pro: you know exactly who to go to if there is a problem
Con: you’re told what to do every day and have to listen to the boss’s ideas even if you don’t agree with them
Fayol has 14 principles of management, list a few
- division of work (divide work to get more done)
- unity of direction (everyone knows goals and direction of business)
- equity (everyone should be paid the same for the same job)
What are Fayol’s 5 Functions of Management ?

5) Controlling
