RONDALLA
The group comprises different stringed guitar-like instruments:
•Banduria
•Octavina
•Laud
•Guitar
•Contrabass
Flat-body musical instrument, pear shaped with a neck and a headplate with twelve strings (six pairs).
Banduria
Tenor-pitched member of the Spanish cittern family and is tuned one octave lower than the Banduria.
Laud
A guitar-shaped Filipino instrument with a tuning similar to the Laúd.
Octavina
Flat body, long Neck with frets, and usually six strings that are played with fingers or with a pick.
Guitar
(From Italian Contrabbasso) refers to severalmusical instrumens of a very low-pitch generally one octave below bass register instruments.
Contrabass
A band that is more often a combination of brass, percussion, and woodwind instruments.
Brass band
Imitates brass woodwind instruments from western culture. Also translates to “bamboo music”
Musikong Bumbong
Adopted from western pipe organ that is made of metal tubes.
Bamboo Organ
An Indonesian instrument that has become part of phillipine music.
Angklung
A bamboo orchestra comprises different instruments made of bamboo and wood.
