Ligaments are Type 1 Collagen with fibroblasts, sensory fibres & vessels

  • Less collagen than tendons
  • More proteoglycans & water
  • Less organized collagen

A

1) Haemorrhage - Blood clot, cellular infiltrate and a hypertrophic vascular response
2) Proliferative - Disorganised collagen (Scar Tissue)
3) Remodelling - Matrix becomes ligament like
