A word that imitates a noise or a sound

A group of line in a POEM thats like a paragraph in a story

A genre of lit that used the way words LOOK OR SOUND. To transmit the meaning to reader

A COMPARISON of two DIFFERENT things USING “like or as”
Rhyme scheme
The PATTERN of rhyming sounds at the end of each line.
Personification
A COMPARISON that shows that shows an OBJECT acting like a HUMAN. ( humanistic traits)
Alliteration
REPEATED sounds at the beginning of WORDS that are NEAR EACH OTHER.
Line break
Where the author choices to end a LINE OF A POEM.
Mood
FEELING or atmosphere CREATED for the reader by THE TEXT.
Hyperbole
An EXAGGEATION used to demonstrate IMPACT and EFFECT
Extended Metaphor
POET conveys meaning by CREATING a metaphor that LAST the ENTIRE POEM.
Metaphor
INDIRECT comparison of TWO unlike things NOT using “LIKE or AS”
Figurative Language
Language that goes beyond the LITERAL meaning NOT SAYING EXCATLY WHAT IT MEANS. U have to dig deep to understand the meaning.
Tone
The way the AUTHOR feelings about a subject which is CONVEYED through WORD CHOICE + PLOT LINE.
