Attitude a writer tKe toward a subject a character or the audience

Central idea of a work of literature

Ex- a character struggles against an outside force
In- takes place entirely within a characters minds
Symbol
A person, place, thing, or event that stands for itself and for something beyond itself as well

A terse saying embodying a general truth, or astute observation
Motif
A recurring subject, theme, idea, etc.
Simile
Comparing using like or as
Metaphor
Makes a hidden comparison between things that aren’t similar in anyway

Using figurative speech
Imagery
Using figurative language to represent objects in away that appeals to physical senses
Rhyme scheme
Order pattern of lines
Ryhme
Repetition of similar sounding words at the end of lines in poems or songs
