A

General climate is cool. Central valley is continental due to its inland position. Nantais has maritime climate due to its coastal location.
Anjou(warm stony soils) is slightly warmer due to protection of Mauges hills.
Touraine is cooler, wetter and clay soil.

A
In east  (cool climate and clay soil) it is light to med body with fresh fruity and floral aromas. Range is dry to lusciously sweet. Rarely fermented or matured in oak.
In west (warm and dry climate) it is med to full bodied, less floral in style.Air circulation enables the late-harvest for full body and complex wines
