Why is managing intrastate war a difficult task?
A
Participants often have to live together after the end of the conflict and is thus difficult to negotiate.

A
In the form of diplomatic support, military security, economic aid, etc.

Power sharing
A
- Power is decentralised and shared between hostile groups.
- Called consociationalism (e.g. in Iraq).

Physical separation
A
- Self-explanatory, e.g. Greece and Turkey after WW1.
- Can be detrimental (e.g. N Ireland finds segregation sows distrust and perceptions of threats).
- Also, some groups might have to be forcibly removed from home areas.
