Math Notes Chp.8 Flashcards
Line
A straight path that has no thickness and extends forever.
Plane
A flat surface that has no thickness and extends forever.
Ray
A part of a line that starts at one endpoint and extends forever in one direction.
Line segment
A part of a line made of two end points and all points between them.
Congruent
Having the same size and shape. The symbol for congruent is (~ on top of =).
Angle
A figure formed my two rays with a common end point called the vertex.
Vertex
On an angle or polygon, the point were two sides interact.
Right angle
An angle that measures 90 decrease.
Acute angle
An angle that measures greater than 0 decrease and less than 90 decrease.
Obtuse angle
An angle who measure is greater than 90 decrease but less than 180 decrease.
Straight angle
An angle that measures exactly 180 decrease.
Complementary angle
Two angles who measure exactly 90 decrease.
Supplementary angle
Two angles that measure exactly 180 decrease.
Perpendicular angle
Lines that intersect to make a right angle.
Parallel lines
Lines in a plane that do not intersect.
