What is the MDR?

A

The MDR is the number of persons fatally injured as a result of traffic collisions per 100 million vehicle miles of travel.

The current MDR is 1.18 deaths per 100 million miles driven.

The department can continue to have a positive impact through educational outreach and enforcement efforts to ensure that all motorists safely share the road.

Hold myself and Officers accountable

ENFORCEMENT:
Hold officers accountable for aggressively enforcing PCF violations (DUI, Speed, unrestraint occupants).

ENGINEERING:
Ensure Caltrans and County Roads are advised of any unsafe conditions.

EDUCATION:
Community outreach on safety programs
-Sober Grad
-Every 15 minutes
-Child Safety Seat

TRAINING:
Work towards getting additional training for my officers in commercial enforcement, lidar/radar trained, impaired driving, DRE

As a field Sgt. I will:

  • get out of the office and interact with the troops
  • conduct ride a longs
  • provide positive reinforcement
