Mathematics
It is the regularity that we see in the forms of the things in the natural world.
Patterns in Nature / Natural Patterns
What are the five types of natural patterns?
- Symmetry
- Spiral
- Meander
- Cracks
- Stripe
In terms of natural patterns, there is _________ if an imaginary line is drawn across an object and the resulting parts are mirror of each other.
Symmetry
It is a curve pattern that focuses on a center point and a series of circular shapes that revolve around it. This is common in plants and some animals
Spiral
It is a series of regular sinuous curves, bends, loops, turns, or windings in the channel of a river, stream, of other watercourses.
Meander
__________ are linear openings that form in the materials to relieve stress. The said pattern indicates whether the material is elastic or not
Cracks
_________ is a strip or band that has a different color from the surface surrounding it. This may be seen in various living things especially animals
Stripe
What are the four main types of patterns
- Logical patterns
- Geometric patterns
- Word patterns
- Number patterns
These two are the first two important measurements of IQ and are also considered as components of many careers
Logical patterns
This type of pattern consists of polygons and circles that are repeated to create a design
Geometric patterns
Is a type of geometric pattern which is formed by repeating polygons to cover a plain so that there is no gaps or overlaps. An example is a honey comb
Tessellations
A type of tessellation where in regular polygons are repeated
Regular tessellation
A type of tessellation wherein two or more polygons are being repeated.
Semi-regular tessellation
• It is a geometric pattern
• It has never-ending patterned
• Can be formed by continuously repeating something
• Considered as “self-similar” provided that each part is similar to the entirety of the object
Fractals
