- Can take thousands of photos

- Some can be very expensive
- It is easy to damage them
What are the most important specifications for buying a camera?
- Optical zoom
- Resolution
- Storage space
What does a large lens do?
Allows more light to be captured which improves the image quality
What does a large sensor do?
Capture more light and allow better quality in different lighting
What does optical zoom mean
Uses lens on camera to get closer to the object being photographed
What does digital zoom mean?
Uses the magnifying glass in the software system
Define Resolution
The number of pixels that make up a picture
What is ISO rating
How sensitive the camera sensor is to light
What is a flatbed scanner
- Slightly larger than A4 size
- Can scan
What is a Sheetfed scanner
- portable scanner
- smaller than flatbed
What is colour depth
Number of different colours that can be represented by a pixel
