Q

What is the Multi-Store Model (MEM)

A
  1. We recieve sensory input which is stored in sensory memory (raw sensory input such as sound and taste).
  2. If we pay attention to the sensory memory, it gets transferred to short-term memory. Otherwise it will be forgotten.
  3. If the information is not rehearsed, it will be forgotten, but otherwise, it will be transferred from short-term memory to long-term memory. To retrieve information from long-term memory, it must travel to short-term memory.
