Stringers are people who have a learning style called ‘basement-up learning’ which basically is looking at details before getting the full picture.

- Learn easily in unstructured situations.
- Do less well when info is presented in a rigid plan.
- Focuses on basic concepts and organizing principles.
- Establish a set of clearly defined goals to get knowledge.
Characteristics of stringers.
- Prefer a systematic and methodical approach.
- Learn best by mastering details before the general concept.
- Focuses on facts directly related to the knowledge trying to be accumulated, if not related they are temporarily ignored.
- Establish a series of clearly defined goals that allow knowledge to be accumulated gradually.
