A
- The North Atlantic Treaty Organization was created in 1949 and the purpose was to show the determination between the USA and the Western Powers’ to stand firm against communism.
- For example, the members of NATO agreed that if any member was attacked, all members of NATO would come to it’s assistance.
- As a result, NATO resulted in the Americans keeping bases in Europe through the Cold war.
