Course of External Jugular Vein

A
  1. Begins near angle of mandible below parotid gland, by union of posterior Auricular Vein and posterior division of Retromandibular vein
  2. Descends obliquely on surface of Sternomastoid
  3. 1 inch above clavicle, it pierces deep fascia of roof of posterior triangle to reach subclavian Vein

Course of Anterior Jugular Vein

A
  1. Starts by union of Submental Veins above hyoid
  2. Descends in superficial fascia near the midline to reach suprasternal Notch
  3. It then shifts laterally, in front of Internal Jugular V and scalenus Anterior, deep to sternomastoid
  4. it ends in External Jugular V
