What is the most important organ of the nervous system and why is it so important?
The brain because it sends and receives signals allowing us to respond appropriate to our surroundings.
How do messages/signals/information get to the brain?
Neurons release chemicals throughout the body and it makes its way to and from the brain.
What are the 5 functions of the skeletal system?
- Gives us shape and structure
- Stores calcium to make bones stronger
- Allows us to move
- Bone marrow produces red blood cells
- Provides protection of major organs
What are the 4 types of joints?
- Hinge
- Pivot
- Gliding
- Ball-and-socket
What are two examples of hinge joints in the body?
- Elbow
