Sensory function: senses changes within the internal and external environment
Integrative function: interprets changes
Motor function: responds to the interpretation by initiating action in the form of muscular contractions or glandular secretions.

The brain and spinal cord

What is the PNS made up of?
A
Afferent and Efferent System. The efferent system is subdivided into the somatic nervous system and into the autonomic nervous system. The autonomic nervous system is further subdivided into the sympathetic nervous system and the parasympathetic nervous system.
