Q

1 Corinthians 12:12-13

A

(12) For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ. (13) For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body -Jews or Greeks, slaves or free- and all were made to drink of one Spirit.

Q

1 Corinthians 12: 14-20

A

(14) For the body does not consist of one member but of many. (15) If the foot should say, “Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body,” that would not make it any less a part of the body. (16)And if the ear should say, “Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body,” that would not make it any less a part of the body. (17) If the whole body were an eye, where would be the sense of hearing? If the whole body were an ear, where would be the sense of smell? (18) But as it is, God arranged the members in the body, each one of them, as he chose. (19) If all were a single member, where would the body be? (20) As it is, there are many parts, yet one body.

Q

1 Corinthians 12: 21-26

A

(21) The eye cannot say to the hand, “I have no need of you,” nor again the head to the feet, “I have no need of you.” (22) On the contrary, the parts of the body that seem to be weaker are indispensable, (23) and on those parts of the body that we think less honorable we bestow the greater honor, and our unpresentable parts are treated with greater modesty, (24)which our more presentable parts do not require. But God has so composed the body, giving greater honor to the part that lacked it, (25) that there may be no division in the body, but that the members may have the same care for one another. (26) If one member suffers, all suffer together; if one member is honored, all rejoice together.

Q

1 Corinthians 12: 27-31

A

(27) Now you are the body of Christ and individually members of it. (28) And God has appointed in the church first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracles, then gifts of healing, helping, administrating, and various kinds of tongues. (29) Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Do all work miracles? 30 Do all possess gifts of healing? Do all speak with tongues? Do all interpret? (31) But earnestly desire the higher gifts.
And I will show you a still more excellent way.

Q

Romans 12: 14-21

A

(14) Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse them. (15) Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep. (16) Live in harmony with one another. Do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly. Never be wise in your own sight. (17) Repay no one evil for evil, but give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all. (18) If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all. (19) Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.” (20) To the contrary, “if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink; for by so doing you will heap burning coals on his head.” (21) Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

Q

Job 38:1-10

A

(1) Then the Lord answered Job out of the whirlwind and said:

(2) “Who is this that darkens counsel by words without knowledge?
(3) Dress for action[a] like a man;
I will question you, and you make it known to me.
(4) “Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth?
Tell me, if you have understanding.
(5)Who determined its measurements—surely you know!
Or who stretched the line upon it?
(6) On what were its bases sunk,
or who laid its cornerstone,
(7) when the morning stars sang together
and all the sons of God shouted for joy?
(8) “Or who shut in the sea with doors
when it burst out from the womb,
(9) when I made clouds its garment
and thick darkness its swaddling band,
10 and prescribed limits for it
and set bars and doors,

Job 38:8-18

A

(8) “Or who shut in the sea with doors
when it burst out from the womb,
(9)when I made clouds its garment
and thick darkness its swaddling band,
(10)and prescribed limits for it
and set bars and doors,
(11) and said, ‘Thus far shall you come, and no farther,
and here shall your proud waves be stayed’?
(12) “Have you commanded the morning since your days began,
and caused the dawn to know its place,
(13)that it might take hold of the skirts of the earth,
and the wicked be shaken out of it?
(14) It is changed like clay under the seal,
and its features stand out like a garment.
(15) From the wicked their light is withheld,
and their uplifted arm is broken.
(16) “Have you entered into the springs of the sea,
or walked in the recesses of the deep?
(17) Have the gates of death been revealed to you,
or have you seen the gates of deep darkness?
(18) Have you comprehended the expanse of the earth?
Declare, if you know all this.

Q

Job 42:1-6

A

(1) Then Job answered the Lord and said:

(2) “I know that you can do all things,
and that no purpose of yours can be thwarted.
(3) ‘Who is this that hides counsel without knowledge?’
Therefore I have uttered what I did not understand,
things too wonderful for me, which I did not know.
(4) ‘Hear, and I will speak;
I will question you, and you make it known to me.’
(5) I had heard of you by the hearing of the ear,
but now my eye sees you;
(6) therefore I despise myself,
and repent in dust and ashes.”

Q

Isaiah 40:28-31

A

(28) Have you not known? Have you not heard?
The Lord is the everlasting God,
the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He does not faint or grow weary;
his understanding is unsearchable.
(29) He gives power to the faint,
and to him who has no might he increases strength.
(30) Even youths shall faint and be weary,
and young men shall fall exhausted;
(31) but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength;
they shall mount up with wings like eagles;
they shall run and not be weary;
they shall walk and not faint.

Q

1 Corinthians 10:3-5

A

(3) For though we walk in the flesh, we are not waging war according to the flesh. (4) For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds. (5) We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ.

Q

Isaiah 60:1-3

A

(1) Arise, shine, for your light has come,
and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you.
(2) For behold, darkness shall cover the earth,
and thick darkness the peoples;
but the Lord will arise upon you,
and his glory will be seen upon you.
(3) And nations shall come to your light,
and kings to the brightness of your rising.
